But what happens when you turn the tables and run a Semrush website audit on Semrush's own domain?

Semrush's preview score of 76.44 is solid — above the industry average of 57/100. Their technical backend is flawless (100/100), their homepage loads in just 234ms, and the design is clean and professional.
But the preview is just the surface.
The Deep Audit: Why Semrush Scored Only 53/100 on Trust

The Semrush trust score of 53 stems from three critical weaknesses.
1. Trust Proof Is Not Prominent (Score: 51/100)
For a company that charges $129+/month for SEO tools, Semrush's homepage does a surprisingly poor job of displaying social proof. Our scan found no review or testimonial language, no rating badges, no guarantee, and no “licensed” or “insured” credentials. The Trust and Proof category scored just 51/100.
This matters because trust signals are what convert skeptical visitors into paying customers. Without prominent trust proof, even high-intent visitors hesitate.
2. Extremely Thin Content Depth
Semrush.com's crawled pages averaged just 296 words per page — the lowest of any major SaaS site we've audited. The homepage itself has 1,101 words. The pricing page has 294 words. The signup and login pages have 28 words each.
Compare this to HubSpot (2,013 words/page average) or Wix (2,913 words/page average). For an SEO company, thin content is a direct contradiction of their own advice.
3. Weak Domain & SEO Value (38/100)
Despite Semrush's massive domain authority (they rank for thousands of keywords), our audit flagged their Domain & SEO Value category at just 38/100. Why? Because:
- Only 1 of 8 common page types was detected (just “Pricing” — no About, Contact, Services, Blog, Testimonials, Portfolio, or FAQ)
- 7 critical pages are missing from the main domain
- The blog appears to live on a subdomain, limiting authority flow
- No structured schema for organization or product markup
