Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 30, 2026
The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. We only link to tools and services we've actually used and would recommend. Our opinions aren't for sale.
That's the headline. Details below.
What are affiliate links?
An affiliate link is a special URL that tells a company “this visitor came from Outbound Autonomy.” If that visitor becomes a customer, the company pays us a referral commission — the same way a real estate agent gets paid when they refer a buyer. We disclose it up front, in writing, here and on every page that has affiliate links.
Why we use them
Running this site costs money — servers, tools, the software that powers our free website audit. Affiliate commissions help cover those costs without paywalls or intrusive ads. When our recommendations earn us a commission, it means we can keep publishing honest, useful material without asking for your credit card.
How we choose what to recommend
- We've used it. We don't recommend tools we haven't tested.
- We'd recommend it anyway. If the affiliate program disappeared tomorrow, would we still tell you to use this tool? If no, it doesn't go on the page.
- The price is the same. Clicking our affiliate link never increases what you pay.
Current affiliate programs
| Program | What it is | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| WP Engine | Managed WordPress hosting | Fast, secure hosting with built-in performance tools that actually improve site speed. |
| Webflow | Visual website builder + hosting | The best no-code platform for custom business sites with clean HTML output and developer-grade control. |
| Semrush | SEO, competitor research & audit toolkit | Industry-standard keyword research and site audit tools we use in our own audit process. |
What we don't do
- No paid reviews. No company has paid us to write a review.
- No undisclosed sponsorships. Sponsored content is labeled at the top of the page.
- No fake scarcity. No countdown timers, “only 3 left” badges, or manipulative urgency.
- No link stuffing. We don't drop affiliate links where they don't belong.
Does this affect the price?
No. The commission comes out of the company's marketing budget. You pay exactly the same price. In some cases, our links include exclusive discounts only available through the affiliate program.
How to spot affiliate links on our site
- Page-level disclosures — Any page with affiliate links includes a notice before the content starts.
- Individual link labels — Where practical, links carry a disclosure badge.
- This page — Our full disclosure page, linked from the site footer on every page.
Editorial independence
Every word on this site is written by us. We don't submit drafts to affiliate partners for approval. We don't soften criticism because a company has an affiliate program. If a tool we recommend gets worse, we update our recommendation — regardless of the affiliate relationship.
